INRAE (French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment) is a key player in research and innovation in France. It comprises 18 research centers, including the Grand Est-Colmar Institute, which conducts studies in two areas: biology of disease resistance and quality of grapevines, and sustainable management of forest, agricultural, and urban areas.

With 130 researchers, engineers, and technicians, the Grand Est-Colmar center aims to solidify its position as a European hub for the strategic themes of vines and wine through partnerships with its German and Swiss colleagues.
