RegioTriRhena Tourism Conference
RegioTriRhena Tourism Conference
featuring tourism experts, tourism entrepreneurs and tourism associations; on 28 September, 4 pm to 7.30 pm at the Kurhaus Bad Krozingen, Kurhausstraße 1, 79189 Bad Krozingen
The southern Upper Rhine is one of the most exciting cross-border tourism regions in Europe. Year after year, streams of visitors from all over the world bear witness to the appeal of the tourist attractions in our three countries.
But what about small-scale cross-border tourism for the people who live in this region and appreciate its proximity?
We would like to explore and discuss this question with you and tourism experts from the three countries at our trinational anniversary event.
We are working on the following premise:
Cross-border tourism in the southern Upper Rhine region thrives on the close interconnection and cooperation between Germany, France and Switzerland. The region is increasingly seen by the local population as a shared living and cultural space. Tourist offerings, mobility and marketing across national borders should be harmonised and coordinated.
Key topics at our conference include the joint marketing of the destination, the expansion of sustainable transport such as cycle paths and public transport, and the protection and tourism-related use of our natural and cultural heritage. Cultural partnerships, joint events and EU-funded projects are intended to strengthen exchange and regional identity.
Tourism in the RegioTriRhena is a significant economic factor, driven by well-known attractions such as Europa-Park, the Feldberg, and cities such as Freiburg, Colmar and Basel. Overall, the region must demonstrate how closely integrated tourism can be when borders are barely noticeable in everyday life.
We cordially invite you to take part in this conference. A detailed programme can be found in the appendix to this letter.
