Regional meeting between Chantal Kopf MdB and RegioTriRhena President Bernd Dallmann

Cross-border confidence building more important than ever!

The re-elected Green MP for the Freiburg constituency and the President of RegioTriRhena, Bernd Dallmann and his Managing Director Manfred Claaßens, met for an exchange of views in the constituency office in Freiburg.

Chantal Kopf und Bernd Dallmann waren sich einig, dass die EU-Staaten in Zeiten des Kriegs in Europa enger zusammenrücken und das gegenseitige Vertrauen stärken müssen.

Chantal Kopf and Bernd Dallmann agreed that, in times of war in Europe, the EU states must move closer together and strengthen mutual trust.

Europe is a subject close to Chantal Kopf's heart. As spokesperson for European policy, she represents the position of her parliamentary group in the Committee on European Union Affairs. As a deputy member of the board of the Franco-German Parliamentary Assembly, she also works on cross-border issues and projects - from rail transport to cooperation in the fields of health and research.

With these areas of responsibility, there are many points of contact with the current projects and activities of RegioTriRhena, such as the reactivation of the Freiburg - Breisach - Colmar railway line, the development of the European Campus, cooperation in tourism and overcoming barriers to cross-border services.

Both sides emphasise that the symbolic, but also political and economic significance of these cross-border projects is of great importance for mutual success and understanding. Especially in the tri-national region, strengthening the common economic and cultural area is an important goal.

Other topics discussed at the meeting in the Greens' office were the current border controls at Germany's internal borders and their impact on the economy and society.

Furthermore, questions of transport and cultural exchange were at the centre of this exchange of views. Chantal Kopf pledged her support to RegioTriRhena.
